A private AI assistant for hospitals and clinics.
Staff ask about procedures, reimbursement rules, contracts and patient complaints in plain language. Merkys answers from Lithuanian healthcare law and your own documents, cites every claim, and runs inside your network.
Six problems hospitals bring to us, and how Merkys solves them.
Healthcare work runs on rules that change often and live in too many places. Each row is a problem we hear from administrators, lawyers and IT teams, and what Merkys does about it.
-
01
The rules are scattered across too many places.
Ministry of Health orders, NHIF guidance, clinical protocols and internal procedures sit in file shares, email attachments and intranets. Finding the current rule can take hours, and the answer depends on who you ask.
How Merkys helps: One chat over your connected sources and uploaded documents, including scanned PDFs. Staff ask in plain language and every answer cites the document and passage it came from.
-
02
An answer without a source can’t be used.
In a regulated setting staff have to show where an answer came from, and a confident wrong answer does more damage than no answer.
How Merkys helps: Citations on every claim, a second check of each answer against its sources, a warning when documents contradict each other, and a clear “not in your documents” when the evidence is too weak.
-
03
Patient complaints take days to assess.
Each complaint means finding the relevant law, weighing both sides fairly and drafting a reply, usually by a small legal team with a backlog.
How Merkys helps: Complaint Resolver assesses the complaint against healthcare law, sets out arguments for the patient and for the clinic, states its assumptions, derives a verdict from the findings and drafts a reply. If key facts are missing, it asks instead of guessing.
-
04
Contracts drift from the mandated templates.
Data-processing and service agreements must follow healthcare law and state-mandated standard forms. Checking every clause by hand is slow and easy to get wrong.
How Merkys helps: Legal Review splits a contract into clauses and checks each against the law and the mandated template. Every clause gets a verdict with the statute excerpts behind it and, where it conflicts, how courts have applied the law.
-
05
The law keeps changing.
Amendments arrive constantly. A procedure that was right last quarter may not be right today, and nobody has time to read every change.
How Merkys helps: Browse the regulations Merkys works from, see changes due in the next 90 days, and get email alerts daily, weekly or as soon as a change is found.
-
06
Patient data cannot leave the building.
IT and data-protection officers won’t approve a tool that sends internal documents to an external AI service, and they are right not to.
How Merkys helps: Merkys is installed on your own servers. A local-only mode refuses to start unless every AI call goes to models inside your network, access follows documents and roles, and a tamper-evident audit log records security-relevant actions.
See the reasoning, not just the verdict.
Legal Review and Complaint Resolver show the law behind every finding, so a reviewer can check the result instead of taking it on trust.
Screens shown in Lithuanian; the interface is also available in English. Every Legal Review and Complaint Resolver result is labelled as an internal, non-final review. The final decision stays with your staff.
What the Healthcare edition includes.
Everything in Merkys, plus tools built for the legal and administrative work of hospitals and clinics.
Legal Review
Clause-by-clause review of contracts against Lithuanian healthcare law and state-mandated templates, with cited statute excerpts and court practice ranked by court authority. Free-form legal questions get guidance instead of a verdict.
COMPLIANT · NON-COMPLIANT · UNCERTAINComplaint Resolver
A two-sided assessment of a patient complaint with stated assumptions, a verdict derived from the findings and a draft reply. It asks for missing facts and falls back to “uncertain” when no verifiable law supports a finding.
TWO-SIDED ANALYSISRegulations and law-change alerts
Browse and search the healthcare-law collection Merkys reasons over, see upcoming changes for the next 90 days, and choose how often you hear about them.
90-DAY LOOK-AHEADMedical reference knowledge
A medical reference collection built from WHO, CDC, ECDC and Orphanet sources, with a browser that shows what it covers.
WHO · CDC · ECDC · ORPHANETClinical app integration
An API that lets a clinical application ask medical questions from the reference collection. It stores no conversations and returns “no evidence” rather than an ungrounded answer.
NO STORED CONVERSATIONSAssistants per department
Set up separate assistants for legal, HR or quality teams, each with its own instructions, allowed roles and documents.

Questions we hear from hospitals and clinics
Does patient or institutional data leave our network?
No. Merkys is installed in your own environment, and in local-only mode it refuses to start unless every AI and embedding call goes to models running inside your network. Documents, indexes and conversations stay with you.
Which regulations does Merkys know?
A curated collection of Lithuanian healthcare law and Ministry of Health legal acts, plus the internal rules, procedures and service standards you connect. Your internal layer is set up with you during deployment.
Is Legal Review a replacement for our lawyers?
No. It is a fast first-pass check that shows its reasoning and the law behind each finding. Every result is labelled as an internal, non-final review, and the final decision stays with your staff.
What happens when Merkys doesn’t know the answer?
It says so. When the evidence is too weak it declines or adds a disclaimer, depending on the policy you set, and shows the closest material it found. Complaint Resolver falls back to “uncertain” rather than inventing a legal basis.
Does it work in Lithuanian?
Yes. The interface is available in Lithuanian and English, and staff can ask questions in either language.
